Curriculum Tidbits:
- We'll continue with a lot of hand-on learning activities with our geometry unit this week! This knowledge is helping us prepare for our Geometry Scavenger Hunt scheduled for Thursday, May 30. We will load busses at 12:30pm and meet at Centennial Park for the scavenger hunt which will take place all around downtown Holland from 12:45-1:45pm. All three third grade glasses will participate, so we will be in mixed groups.
- We would love your help for this hour of fun as the students participate in the Geometry Scavenger Hunt and earn points by finding geometric shapes in architecture, signs, and nature and take pictures with their iPads. If you are interested in being a group leader (It's only one hour!), please sent me an email.
- Students will finish their annual "Faith Writing" as they reflect on how and where they see God in their lives.
- We have been reading and comparing different versions of the Cinderella story - some from different cultures. This week we will use those stories as a launching off point to do a fun "If the Shoe Fits" STEM activity.
- This year "went by in a flash", so students will be working on an end-of-the-year camera project reflecting on all we did in third grade.
- Warmer temperatures mean more opportunities to take our learning outside, enjoy reading in hammocks, and even dipping our toes in the creek!
- With only a couple weeks left in the year, we're reminded to finish strong and give our best right up until the end. This includes working to turn in our weekly required reading minutes as well has math homework when assigned.
- This month's Bible memory passage is Galatians 5:22-26.
- Field Day will be Tuesday, May 28, from 12:15pm until the end of the day. Yay! We will be OUTSIDE that whole afternoon, so please help your third grader think through their footwear and clothing.
