Curriculum & Other Tidbits:
- In math, we will assess our unit on place value and adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers on Monday and move on to the next unit.
- New spelling words will be sent home on Monday with our test being on Friday.
- We will keep busy drafting our informational writing as we work towards making a class coloring book of animals. In reading we'll be recording ourselves reading aloud to work on fluency.
- This week in Bible we'll continue with the Christmas story.
- Social studies will have us learning about the geography of Michigan.
- December 10, 12pm-2pm - 3rd grade field trip to ODC. (Our class has room for 2 more chaperones if anyone is interested. Just let me know! Word has it that most of this field trip will be indoors, but there's no guarantee there won't be an outdoor element!)
- December 16, 12:20-2pm - Gingerbread Houses (Third graders will work with their peers to construct their houses.) Each third grader should bring in TWO tubs of white/vanilla frosting to use in constructing their gingerbread house. You may send them in at anytime!
- December 17, 2:15-3pm - Our 3rd grade class Christmas party. Mrs. VanderWoude, Mrs. Haan, and Mrs. Tetro have volunteered to plan our class Christmas party. Hooray!

- The Kindergarten Cookie Sale: Kindergarten classes are getting excited for our annual Cookie Sale, which is coming up on Thursday, December 11th! This year, our proceeds will go to the Chan family. Noé and Kathlyn Chan, along with their two daughters Haddie and Alizah, are missionaries in Guatemala, serving God by using their gifts in art and physical therapy. They became friends with Maestra Klipp Lopez while her family was serving in Guatemala, and we are so excited to come alongside and support their family! The Cookie Sale will begin at 9:00am and cookies will cost 50 cents each. Below is more information about the Chan family and their ministry:
