Week #37 Tidbits

How can it be that we've arrived at the LAST WEEK of third grade?! It truly seems unreal. Here are a few bits of information to help the last few days go smoothly:

  • We did not have a new reading minutes slip last week, so there are no reading minutes to turn in tomorrow.
  • I collected everyone's yellow folder last week - some were hanging on by a thread! So, no more reminders to bring yellow folders back and forth to school.
  • Please send in a bag of some sort tomorrow. A paper grocery bag is fine or a canvas bag or whatever. As we work through sorting through our desk and school supplies, my goal is to have them do a bit of sorting first so they don't come home with a bag of trash. 😉
Last week we had so much fun at Field Day. This class is so good at having fun together and celebrating each other. It was great to watch them do all of the games and activities. We thank Ms. Raak for organizing Field Day and extend our congratulations on her upcoming retirement!

The kids worked on making shoes for Miss Roskamp all week long so they'd be ready for the official fitting on Friday morning. Miss Roskamp tried on each shoe and gave her feedback. Every shoe scored high in comfort! She loved how "squishy" and comfy they were. Most fit her well. Many stayed on her foot really well. The style of each shoe was very unique as well - all of which made choosing a winner very difficult. But in the end, there was one shoe that was comfortable, fit perfectly, stayed on, and was beautiful. It was made by Bryn! Congratulations, Bryn!

The winning shoe!

The third grade classes sorted through all of their Geometry Scavenger Hunt pictures and organized them by point value to create a poster of their shapes and letters. They did a great job working together!

  • Lunch accounts: Friendly reminder to please make sure your lunch account balances are in the positive as we end the school year. Please log into your accounts to take care of paying lunch fees. If you have any questions please contact cachterhof@hollandchristian.org.
