- Students will be taking the math, reading, and language arts MAP tests this week.
- In reading, we are immersed in non-fiction/informational texts as we learn how to glean important details, synthesize main ideas and central themes, and understand the importance of text features.
- Students are drafting their persuasive letters this week before we dive into informational writing and put in to practice some of the things we have learned in reading about informational text.
- Our Bible memory passage for January is Psalm 1. It is due on or before January 31.
- Our class is spending our Science block with Mrs. Becksvoort learning about food science. I am sure they are coming home with some fun stories to tell about their experiments!
Other Tidbits:
- The end of the 2nd quarter was yesterday (1/10). Report cards will be sent home on Friday (1/24).
- Resthaven Service Outing - Our class will be spending an hour or our afternoon interacting with the residents at Resthaven on 40th. We are in need of a parent volunteer to meet us there. If you are available to help out from 1-2pm on Friday (1/17), please send me an email. Thank you for considering!
- The PR staff will be enjoying a small luncheon together on Wednesday (1/15). If any of you would like to come and supervise our class while they eat (11:55am-12:15pm), just let me know!
