- Math Unit 6 will focus our attention on solving word problems using all of the mathematical operation and concepts we've studied so far (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions, decimals, and whole numbers).
- This week the fifth graders will work at applying all we've learned about the five text structures as we read informational text.
- Each fifth grader has chosen a topic to research for our informational writing unit. A yellow sheet came home on Friday asking for your help in finding a few links to appropriate websites your fifth grader could use as they research. Links may be emailed to your child's school email address which was written on the yellow sheet. The email containing a few links will not be needed until Wednesday.
- The yellow sheet that went home on Friday also explained an optional project/product. Your fifth grader may choose make something that goes along with what they've learned in their research. It would need to be ready to show/present at the end of March.
- Our class will wrap up their study of food science with Mrs. Becksvoort this week.
- We will continue to dig into Jesus' parables in Bible this week.
Other Tidbits:
- This week Wednesday (2/5) is Fancy/Dress-up Day. Students are invited to wear their "Sunday best" to school.
- For those who like to plan ahead, fifth graders are invited to bring valentines on Valentine's Day (2/14) This is optional, but most - if not all - fifth graders still choose to do this.
