Twelfth Week Tidbits

Since the beginning of the year, we've continually focused on "God's True Words".  Every day we talk about how important it is that we focus on what we know to be true from God's Word and set our minds on those things.  For the last few weeks, students have chosen some of those true words to write on their desks as a daily prompt to focus on who the Bible tells us God is.
What a joy it is to glance around the room and see all of these reminders!

Curriculum Tidbits:

  • Following our Sermon on the Mount test on Monday, we will shift our focus onto the Birth of Christ.
  • Our current math unit is Fraction Multiplication and Division.  In order to help with simplification of fractions, we are focusing a lot of our attention on factoring numbers as well.
  • We have chosen our claims, found supporting evidence, and written the introductions to our literary essays.  Next week will be filled with drafting the body paragraphs and conclusions.
  • We have concluded our "Objects in the Sky" science unit and will begin "Forces and Motion" unit on Monday.

Other Tidbits

  • Please check in with your fifth grader to see if he/she needs any supplies replenished.  Expo markers are beginning to dry up.  A few students also need a pair of earbuds.
  • Due to Thanksgiving Break, we will not have school next week Wednesday (11/25) - Friday (11/27).
  • Thank you, thank, you, thank you!  The surprise gifts and cards keep coming, and I feel so blessed!
