Thirty-Second Week Tidbits

Curriculum Tidbits:

  • We'll be wrapping up our word problem math unit this week, so a practice test will be sent home on Friday (4/23) in preparation for our test on Tuesday (4/27).
  • In Bible, we are taking a detailed look at all the people who were eye witnesses to Jesus' resurrection.
  • Our poetry writing unit began this week with learning how to write an "adjective poem".  We look forward to stretching our creative writing muscles throughout this unit!
  • In social studies, we continue to learn about some of the main battles fought during the Revolutionary War.
  • The class is SUPER excited to begin our historical fiction book clubs on Monday!  Groups have been made, books have been distributed, reading schedules have been made, and Monday students will begin reading and meeting in groups.
Other Tidbits:
  • Market Day is happening the afternoon of April 28!  Students are invited to bring $5-7 (optional!) to shop the products made by the fourth graders.
  • Plans are being made for the fifth graders to visit the middle school on Tuesday, May 4 from 1:30-2:15.  More details to follow!
  • An orchestra concert is being planned for the evening of May 18.  More details to follow.
