7th Week Tidbits

Curriculum Tidbits:

    • With the Unit 1 Math Assessment behind us, we look forward to adding and subtracting decimals in our next math unit.
    • Our social studies focus remains on the explorers, causes of exploration, and the Columbian exchange.
    • Monday (10/11) is Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day, so we will discuss the importance of both.
    • We will be drafting our personal narratives a good part of this next week.
    • We plan to wrap up our current Bible unit and have a test on Wednesday (10/13). Most of the reviewing will take place in class, but a review sheet will be sent home as well.
    • We have finished reading Wonder and began reading Pay Attention, Carter Jones by Gary Schmidt today.
    Other Tidbits:

    • Today (10/8) is the end of the first marking period.  Look for report cards to be sent home next week Friday (10/15).
    • I look forward to meeting with you at Parent Teacher Conferences which will take place on Monday (10/18) and Tuesday (10/19).
    • To bring awareness to the fact that October is Down's Syndrome Awareness Month, students are invited to wear mismatched socks on Fridays as a way of celebrating our differences.
