It's been so good to be back! What fun we had sharing all about our Christmas Breaks.
Again, I wanted to thank you all for your generous and thoughtful Christmas gifts and cards. Hopefully all of the thank you cards made their way home to you!
Curriculum Tidbits:
- We began Unit 4 in Math which has us multiplying whole numbers and decimals.
- In Bible we will be learning about Jesus' parables.
- We look forward to starting our first Science unit called "To Infinity and Beyond" which will help us learn about gravity and the solar system.
- Students received some homework earlier this week to help them prepare for our newest writing unit - "Informational Writing". They will need to interview an adult family friend or family member and collect the required information which will help them in their writing over the next few weeks. Completed interview packets are due on Tuesday, January 10.
- Psalm 1 is our Bible memory passage for this month. It will be due on January 31.
Other Tidbits:
- Ask your fifth grader about the status of their white board markers. We've hit the time of year when many/most of their markers have dried up and my supply of extras for them to borrow/use is quickly disappearing.
- This upcoming week, we look forward to weaving in some activities that will help us learn about Martin Luther King Jr..
