With next week being Thanksgiving already, I want to tell you (again) how THANKFUL I am for each and every one of you!
THANK YOU for your ongoing support of the work and learning your children are doing in third grade!
- Due to the shortened week next week (We are off on W, TH, and F for Thanksgiving.), we will NOT have new spelling words or math homework. Students should still try to get their reading minutes in.
- One of the third grade Christmas traditions is assembling and decorating a gingerbread house. This fun activity will take place on Wednesday December 6, from 12:15-2pm and works best if every third grader has an adult helper. If you haven't already, please click here to let me know who will be coming for your child, so I can be sure we have enough adult helpers.
- I'm so thankful that we have have volunteers for our class party on Wednesday December 20th. Our celebration will be from 2:15-3:00pm. (No student gift exhange.) The volunteers are Mrs. Kammeraad, Mrs. Kaindl (craft), and Mrs. Disselkoen. Thank you!
THANK YOU for being SO willing to donate materials as they are needed!
- {UPDATE! Within hours of posting this blog, plywood board bases were COVERED! Seriously. I actually had MULTIPLE offers. You all are amazingly generous. THANK YOU!} We are in need of some more bases for our gingerbread houses to sit on. The bases are simply pieces of plywood that are roughly 8.5" x 11". (Size is approximate.) Before I visit Lowe's and see about getting some cut, I thought I'd see if there are any handy parents out there would would be able to tackle this need. Our class needs 13 more bases. Let me know if this sounds fun to you! ;)
- Our Gingerbread Donation Sign-Up is COMPLETELY full already! Wow! Thank you for your generosity!
- The class had a wonderfully creative time construction rain gauges and anemometers using the recyclables you donated! (Pictures below.)
THANK YOU for entrusting your child to my classroom each week. It is a true privilege to spend my days with them!
