Week #18 Tidbits

The Christmas Season so often seems to be synonymous with busyness, and it is no different in third grade. However, in the midst of all the "extra", we are doing our best to keep our focus on the Jesus, the reason for this season.

Thank you to ALL of you who so generously donated supplies for our gingerbread houses! As I'm sure you could tell when they came home, the third graders were very proud of their work. Pictures are linked here.

The following is a day-by-day look at our week:

Monday (12/16) - P.E. 

  • Third graders should bring their yellow folders and signed reading minutes. 
  • We will NOT have word work or reading minutes this week.
  • We are so excited to have the first graders lead our chapel from 10:30-11:00am.
  • Our Class Christmas Party will be held after our 2:00pm recess until the end of the day. (Thank you to Mrs. French, Mrs. Neuwmann, and Mrs. Geenen for being willing to plan the festivities.)

Tuesday (12/17) - Spanish 

  • Our class has Barn Duty. 
  • After lunch Mr. Glick is coming to help us construct the extension of the interior goat pen. 
  • I plan to have the kids rotate between working in the greenhouse and working in the barn and could use another adult to stay with the kids in the greenhouse as they work. Shoot me an email if you are willing to help us out from 12:30-2:00pm. 
  • A huge thank you to Mr. Glick for helping fine tune our plan, shop for materials, and prep for putting it together with 18 excited third graders!

Wednesday (12/18) - Music

  • This will be a somewhat normal day as we also work to finish up some secret Christmas projects.

Thursday (12/19) - Art

  • The class will have a substitute for the last half of the day, but this will hopefully be a somewhat normal day. 

Friday (12/20) - P.E. & Library

  • There will be an All-school Christmas Carol Sing in the gym after lunch.  
  • This is the last day of school before Christmas Break begins! (School will resume on January 6!)

Requested Announcement:

  • Carpool reminder: Please remember that when the carpool cars are exiting, they have the right of way. In order to keep the carpool lane moving efficiently, please do not let the parking lot cars merge into the exiting traffic. If you are in the parking lot, please wait patiently once the carpool lane has begun moving. Thank you for your assistance with this, especially as the weather changes!
