Week #11 Tidbits

Whew! With Fall Break in there, it feel like it's been awhile since our last update! I can sum up the past few weeks in one word: AWESOME. Our class has really grown and come together as a mini-family. They are engaged in their learning and their daily work. They are mindful of their classmates and looking for ways to serve each other. They are proud of their growth and motivated to try their best. What a gift to spend my days in this classroom with this bunch!

We had a great time last week Thursday doing the first ever Wobble Waddle! What a hoot!

Curriculum Tidbits:
  • This week our Bible unit will have us learning about some of the first stories in the Bible.
  • We will be finishing up our "All About Me" lap books that helped us learn about text features.
  • In reading, we'll continue to learn and practice skills that help us read informational books.
  • We will assess Unit 2 of math early this week. Most of the unit is on multiplication and division word problems - including two-step problems and order of operations.
  • Our social studies unit will wrap up the history of Michigan and move on to learning about the geography of Michigan.
  • This week we will begin our mornings doing Sing, Move, and Memorize with Mrs. Winningham this week to kick off November's Bible memory passage - Psalm 100.
