Curriculum Tidbits:
- I've been so impressed by ALL the reading our class is doing for our "All-Star Reading" Challenge. I've seen their reading stamina increase so much over this year!
- We're continuing to learn about literary essays in writing and about how figurative language can be used.
- Our Bible stories will center around the events of Holy Week.
- We have started Math Unit 6 which is all about solving word problems!
- In Social Studies we'll learn about Michigan's economy.
- Our Bible memory passage for the month of March is Matthew 28:1-10.
- The last day of Parent Teacher Conferences is Monday (3/30). Meeting with you all has been a joy and so very helpful as we look to finish strong! (Not that I'm even ready to think about the end of the year! I would gladly keep ALL of these kids!)
Requested Announcements:
- GLOW DAY: Next week Wednesday we will be having Glow Day in music class. This is a reward that was earned for good class behavior throughout the year. All of our music activities that day will revolve around hands-on, glowing/light-up items. It is going to be a blast! Your child is welcome to wear clothing that will "glow" under the black lights. Most white and neon colored clothing appears to glow. I will be providing a simple glow necklace for each student, but If your child has anything they can wear that lights up/glows (glasses, hat, etc...) they are welcome to don that as well. No extra toys please. Thanks for your support. ~Mrs. Rietman
