You may notice that I had to adjust our blog titles (jumping from Fourteenth Week Tidbits to Seventeenth Week Tidbits) to account for the short weeks when I don't send out a blog. The school year continues to whiz by!
We completed our test on multiplying and dividing fractions this past week and have already begun our next unit which will focus our attention on multiplying multi-digit numbers and exponents.
Having completed our Sermon on the Mount Unit in Bible, we will spend the rest of this month on the Birth of Jesus. What a joy it is to study all the events surrounding our Savior's birth!
Our December Bible Memory Verse is Luke 2:6-20 and is due by December 21.
In Social Studies the students are on the "Road to the Revolution" and are creating a timeline and a comic strip of the events.
We will finish typing and partner-editing our literary essays and then get them ready for printing/publication by taking a "shelfie" picture with our book to add to the cover.
Our unit on historical fiction continues for reading. Students should their historical fiction book completed by Friday, December 14, so they are prepared to work on the final project the following week.
We are still collection baby items for Lakeshore Pregnancy Center/Positive Options until Wednesday, December 19. Thank you for your donations!
Christmas Plans:
Mrs. Becksvoort and I will be treating both fifth grade classes to a pizza lunch on Thursday, December 20, and we will enjoy a combined Christmas Celebration that same afternoon from 2:20-3:00pm.
