Twenty-first Week Tidbits

Because of today's snow day, report cards will be sent home Monday.

This week we will be working on a "Parable Project" to show our understanding of the parables of Jesus we studied.

Students should be prepared to recite or complete a fill-in-the-blank on Psalm 1 by Thursday, January 31.

Fifth grade scientists will review and assess their current unit on Force & Motion this week.

Our division unit will focus on understanding and solving word problems.  We continue to faithfully drill those math facts.  Many students are showing incredible improvement!

Persuasive letters are being drafted and will be revised this week in order to make their claim strong and their evidence supportive.

Our informational reading focus will shift from text features to identifying and understanding text structures (cause & effect, sequence, description,  problem & solution, and compare and contrast.)

Fifth graders are invited to bring a few dollars and a bag if they would like to shop all of the wonderful shops at Market Day on Wednesday, January 30.

Wednesday is also the first of the Wacky Wednesdays for the year.  Students are invited to dress in their favorite color that day.
