Twenty-seventh Week Tidbits
A FULL week! We had a FULL week! Glory be!
Here are a few tidbits of helpful information and reminders:
Mrs. Hoogland would love any donations of newspaper, flyers, and/or cereal boxes for the fifth graders' current art project. Please feel free to send in any donations with your child!
The main focus of this past week in reading has been reviewing the five text structures, making sure we can identify the structure of given informational text.
The Bible memory passage for the month of March is Matthew 28:1-10. It will be due by Friday, March 29.
Our current Bible unit on Jesus' Ministry is winding down. We will review in class on Tuesday (3/5), and be tested on Thursday (3/7). A review sheet will be sent home.
In Science, the Force and Motion unit will conclude with a test on Tuesday (3/5). A review sheet will be provided on Monday (3/4).
March is Reading Month! The fifth graders are being encouraged to read outside of their comfort zone by enjoying different types of books (biographies, classics, books written before 1975, Newbery winner and honor books, etc.). For each qualifying book that is read during the month of March, we will add a book to our classroom "book stack".
It may be time to ask your fifth grader how his/her school supplies are holding up. Many of the students are especially low on dry erase markers at this point in the year.
Parent Teacher Conferences are at the end of this month. Click here to sign up!
If you have not yet had a chance to sign up to donate or volunteer for Fun Night, Follow this link. The fun begins Friday (3/8) at 5:30pm at Pine Ridge. See you there!
