A practice math test is coming home in your fifth grader's binder. Although our Unit 6 test on solving word problems will not be given until next week Friday (3/15), the weekend will give them ample time to review key concepts. The answer key has been attached to the parent email. Completed and corrected practice tests are due on Monday, (3/11).
As we continue on in Bible, we will keep our eyes on Jesus's teachings leading up to his crucifixion. These stories fit right in this season of Lent.
The third marking period comes to a close on Friday, March 15. Look for report cards to come home with your fifth grader the following Friday, March 22.
So many volunteers have had a hand in planning and organizing tonight's Fun Night. Festivities begin at 5:30pm. See you there!
Looking ahead, on Thursday, 4/18 the 5th grade classes will travel to the Gerald R. Ford Museum in downtown Grand Rapids for an all-day field trip.
During our visit, students will learn the meaning of "civic engagement" through the examples of President Ford and Mrs. Ford using class discussion, activities, and an interactive museum tour. They will also create eBooks about the theme of active citizenship and then "get active" themselves by engaging in a on-site group service project with Kids Food Basket.
We will need three parent chaperones for our field trip. If you are interested in accompanying the class, please contact Mrs. Smit by Friday, 3/22.
