Pre-Spring Break Tidbits

Oh, what a busy couple of weeks it's been!  I've been hearing a lot about Spring Break plans.  Whether you are going away or not, I pray you and your family get to enjoy a change of pace and some springlike weather.

It was so good to meet with each of you for Parent-Teacher Conferences!  What a blessing to partner with you in the education of your children.  Thank you for entrusting your children to my classroom.

Matthew 28:1-10, was due today.  Any fifth grader who did not/could not recite it or complete a fill-in-the-blank will be required to do so on Monday, April 8.

Our field trip to the Gerald R. Ford Museum is scheduled for Thursday, April 18.  Students will need to bring a sack lunch.  Thank you to Mrs. Holloway, Mrs. Sterenberg, and Mrs. Rigterink for chaperoning!

Our current math unit focuses on order of operations, plotting line segments on a coordinate plane, and solving equations for variables.

Once we return from Spring Break:

  • our writing focus will be on poetry.
  • in reading we will begin historical fiction book clubs.
  • reading minutes will resume with a new sheet being sent home on Monday (4/8).
  • new spelling lists will come home with a test on Friday, (4/12).
  • our Bible Memory passage for April will be Acts 2:1-4.
Upcoming dates:
  • Fine Arts Night is Tuesday, April 16.
  • Invasive species field trip to Mt. Pisgah is Wednesday, May 15.
  • Fifth grade day at Holland State Park is Thursday, May 23,
