We had SUCH a great visit with award-winning author, Gary Schmidt!! He is such a gifted writer and story teller. He did a wonderful job sharing about the writing and publishing process, as well as fun stories about his life that impacted him. Thank you, Prof. Schmidt!
Curriculum Tidbits:
- Our science unit on Force and Motion will wrap up with a test on Wednesday. A study sheet will be sent home on Monday.
- With our multiplying and dividing fractions unit behind us, we will spend this week before break reviewing all we've learned in math this year.
- Our Bible unit on Jesus' birth will conclude this week, just in time for Christmas!
- By the end of the week, the fifth graders should have their persuasive letters ready for delivery! (Brace yourselves...some of YOU will have some very persuasive letters coming home!)
- For reading this week, we hope to spend the week on a project based on the historical fiction book each one of us chose to read over the past two weeks. Some students may need to spend an additional few days reading in order to finish their books. Hopefully, those books made it into backpacks so they could also be read over the weekend. :)
- Luke 2:6-20 is due on Thursday (12/17).
Class Christmas Celebration - We will have a fun, little Christmas celebration as a class on Thursday (12/17) afternoon.
Positive Options "Baby Battle" -- Reminder: Students need to have items in by Thursday, Dec. 17th, by the end of the day in order to count for the "Baby Battle Challenge". We will announce the winning class on Friday!! (THANK YOU for ALL the donations so far! We are AMAZED!
