LAST Week Tidbits

 we made it

My heart is so happy!

After all the time spent doing distance-learning last year, my prayer was that this year we would be able to do the entire year in-person.  Way back in August 2020, that seemed like a big and bold ask.  But with each passing week, God was faithful in keeping us together.  As you know, there is so much more that goes into a school day than what can be replicated from a distance.  The relationships, the interactions, the sharing of all God is doing in our lives, the "doing of life" woven together is a gift I saw this class soak in and relish day in and day out.  Getting to be WITH your children {in person} was something I didn't take for granted.

Thank you for sharing your child with me!

Random Last-Minute Tidbits:

  • Report cards and batons will be sent home with your fifth grader on Friday (6/4).
  • Keep those batons in a safe place as they will be sent back to school with your child when they begin 6th grade.
  • Field Day is scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday (6/3).  Students should come in clothes that can get wet/dirty with a towel, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a small bag or backpack to carry it all in.  It's bound to be a fun afternoon!
  • The outgoing Pine Ridgers - the fifth graders - had the honor of welcoming the newest Pine Ridgers - current 2nd graders - on Thursday.  It was a precious sight!  (See pics below.)
  • Ruff Readers arrived for the last time this past Thursday afternoon with a record 15 dogs!!  (See pics below.)
  • Check around the house for any classroom copies of books that may be hiding or forgotten and return them ASAP.
  • In spite of all the "extras" going on during this last week, we will still be doing plenty of learning!  Geometry, US Constitution, Bill of Rights, faith writing, Bible lessons, etc.  We are squeezing out every last drop of educational time!
