Curriculum Tidbits:
- In Bible, we are studying the growth of the early church following Pentecost.
- Our focus in social studies turns to the US Constitution this week.
- We'll wrap up this quick math unit by fine-tuning our ability to use order of operations as well as graph coordinate pairs. A practice test will be sent home on Friday (5/21), in preparation for our Math test on Tuesday (5/24).
- Poetry writing continues with a "definition poem" and a "free verse" this week.
- With our historical fiction unit behind us, we turn our attention to refining our comprehension skills as we dig deeper into our good fit books.
Other Tidbits:
- Following last week Friday's first health class (focusing on who God says we are), fifth grade boys and girls will split up as we learn about our changing bodies on Monday (5/17) and Thursday (5/20).
- Students who haven't finished their MAP tests will have an opportunity to complete them this coming week.
- All library materials need to be turned in, so take a peek around your house for any books that are hiding!
