16th Week Tidbits

Curriculum Tidbits:

  • We'll continue our multiplication unit by multiplying decimal numbers.
  • In Bible, we'll take a look at the births of John the Baptist and Jesus.
  • We are gearing up to gather information about a family member over Christmas Break so we can be prepared to dive into our non-fiction informational writing piece.
  • Reading is keeping us focused on non-fiction as we practice "putting all the pieces" of text features together to link new learning to prior knowledge.
  • In social studies we are finishing up our "Help Wanted" posters which helped us learn about colonial occupations.
Other Tidbits:
  • Our class Christmas celebration will happen at the end of the day on Thursday (12/16).  (No student gifts will be exchanged.)
  • Staff Luncheon Volunteer Needed - On December 14, staff will have the opportunity to gather together for a Christmas luncheon. I will need one parent volunteer to be in our classroom during lunch (11:45-12:05). If hanging out with an awesome group of fifth graders sounds like your cup of tea, please let me know!
  • Spirit Week - It's time to celebrate and have fun! The week before Christmas we'll have a special Christmas Spirit Week:
