Curriculum Tidbits:
- Fifth graders are continuing to draft and publish their "Heritage Project" paragraphs. Next week we will learn review cause and effect text structure in reading and compose the information we gathered into a cause and effect paragraph in writing.
- We've started math Unit 5, which is all about dividing whole numbers and decimals.
- We'll begin our science unit entitled "Systems and Survival" which will give us a closer look at the animal kingdom.
- Our Bible stories will help us see how Jesus revealed who he was through his miracles and interactions with people.
- We continue to practice this month's Bible memory passage, Psalm 1. Students will need to recite it or complete a fill-in-the-blank by Friday, January 28.
Other Tidbits:
- With so much snow and ice on the playground and the colder temperatures, students are encouraged to come prepared with the proper outdoor gear so they can make the most of their outdoor time.
- Report cards will be available for viewing through PowerSchool beginning at 4pm this afternoon.
