Curriculum Tidbits:
- We are wrapping up our most recent unit on Jesus' ministry this next week and will review for a test on Thursday (2/10).
- We've completed writing our paragraphs for our non-fiction essay, and we will be working on putting the finishing touches on our projects to get them ready to share with others.
- In reading, students will put all they've learned about text structures into practice by working on a project all week.
- Our math focus remains on division of whole numbers and decimals, but we will apply that knowledge to solving word problems.
- Fifth graders combined learning about notable African-Americans with a STEM project this afternoon as they worked to created a Black History Month pop-up book. We hope to share our creation with younger grades once it's completed!
- Our science lessons will allow the students to research a specific animal with a focus on its classification and characteristics.
Other Tidbits:
- Wednesday (2/9) we will celebrate 100 days of learning!
- We look forward to meeting with our POD groups on Friday (2/11) afternoon.
- We will not have school on Monday (2/21).
- Spring Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on March 28 and 30, from 4-8pm.
