Curriculum Tidbits:

- Word Work (spelling) will begin next week with new words coming home on Monday and the test on those words taking place on Friday. Students will practice their words by doing different activities with them throughout the week at school, but are also encouraged and expected to study their words at home.
- Math has us deep in adding and subtracting fractions this next week.
- To lay a firm foundation of typing skills, fifth graders are getting practice using proper typing form using Typing Club.
- Students are learning their way around their laptops and enjoyed doing a "Laptop Scavenger Hunt" where they put these skills (bolding, cutting, pasting, taking screen shots, etc.) into practice.
Other Tidbits:
- Please make sure your fifth grader has a pair of ear buds/headphones to use at school.
- Due to a Professional Development Day, there is a half-day of school on Friday, September 16.
