We did it! 1000th day was a hit.
Students were greeted with balloons (Thank you, Sara Bronsink!) and signs as soon as they entered the building this morning.
Following B.O.M., we went non-stop with 1000th day activities.
From estimating how many elephants or plates or wedges of cheese we'd need to stack on top of each other to be 1000 ft. tall, to writing about what we'd do with $1000, to making a memory flip book filled with memories from previous grades, to reading Sadako (and the Thousand Paper Cranes) and making our own origami cranes - we were busy!
Mrs. Pereira dropped by and Dr. Forseth came to congratulate the students and personally hand out commemorative stickers to each fifth grader.
We ended the day by playing "Minute (100 seconds) to Win it" games with the other class...because 1000 seconds is 16+ minutes. It was a fun way to end our day of celebrating 1000 days of learning.
Enjoy all the pictures!
