Looking Ahead to Week 2

We survived!  The start of a new school year is a HUGE adjustment for everyone - students, parents, and teachers. The extreme heat didn't help either, however I have already seen good gains in the class as a whole:

  • Following instructions for work.
  • Limiting blurting out comments in inappropriate times.
  • Raising hands.
  • Improving our writing neatness.
So many of those things, while seemingly little, contribute to our learning environment in big ways.

Thank you to Mrs. Kaindl and Mrs. Kammeraad for blessing our class with popsicles this week!  

Thank you to all who were able to attend last night's Meet the Teacher meeting.  A summary sheet has been sent home with all students today.  

Here are a few tidbits about next week:
  • With some of the foundational routines taking shape, we will dive into some more curricular lessons and work towards gaining work-stamina.
  • In reading, we will gradually increase our reading-stamina.
  • We will continue to refine our handwriting to make it as readable and correct as possible
  • We will be traveling to HCHS on Wednesday (8/31) morning for the annual All-School Opening Convocation.  Parents are welcome to attend!
  • Due to the Labor Day weekend, there is no school on Friday (9/1) or Monday (9/4).
