Curriculum Tidbits:
- Math - We are solidifying our knowledge of the x5 "fact family" and moving on to mastering the x2 family this week. We'll also be introduced to the concept of division as "equal sharing".
- Bible - We'll be learning about "God's Library" - the books that make up the Old and New Testaments - and learning how to look up verses and use footnotes and a concordance.
- Word Work - This week the whole class will use a common list of words to learn the rhythm of Word Work in third grade. This week is all about learning the routine, so we will be using a list that is likely far too easy for most. On Friday we will take a "test" on these words, but it will not be "graded" as a normal test would.
- Reading - WOW! This class has some great reading stamina! We've been working on "real reading", sticking with our books and not "book-hopping", and finding books that hold our interest. This week we will share what we are reading with others.
- Grammar - We are learning how to identify basic parts of speech like nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
