Week #5 Tidbits - Picture Overload!

Friday's field trip to Conner Bayou was a huge success!  Thank you to Mrs. Neumann and Mr. Imber for being our chaperones for the day. The weather was perfect, the students were engaged and respectful, and our leaders at Conner Bayou were amazing. We learned about early fur trading through games and hands-on activities.

Curriculum Tidbits:
  • The third graders have settled in quite a bit to our daily routines so we've been able to dig into the curriculum a bit deeper.
  • Students will come home with a new spelling/word work list on Monday, and should prepare to be tested on them on Friday. They also get daily word practice at school.
  • Psalm 8 is our Bible Memory for the month of September.
  • In math, our multiplication focus will include: x0, x1, x5, x2, and x10.
  • We'll continue to learn about how the Bible is broken into testaments, books, chapters, and verses, and will practice finding specific verses.
  • Our first official turn in day for Reading Minutes is tomorrow! A new slip for the new week will be sent home tomorrow.
Other Tidbits:
  • Our class was so excited to get the first opportunity to meet and hold Rose Park's NEW chicks! (Adorable pics below!) We have seven new chicks and will be keeping two of them to stay at Rose Park Ranch permanently. (The extras will come to live at our house!)
  • Show and Tell will always be on Thursdays during lunch. If you want to bring in a pet, just send me an email and we can find a good day and time for a visit. (Pets aren't necessarily restricted to just Thursdays.)
