Curriculum Tidbits:
- We're working to write clear summaries of what we read - not too much and not too little.
- Students will begin brainstorming and planning for their personal narratives in writing.
- The class will begin our weekly fluency practice routine this week.
- Our study of Michigan history continues in social studies.
- In math, we are working to gain more understanding of division with 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, and 10 families.
- Third graders will work a bit with understanding footnotes and a concordance in Bible.
- This week, third graders will be able to either recite Psalm 8 to me (alone or with a couple friends) or complete a fill-in-the-blank of Psalm 8.
- New spelling words will be sent home Monday and be tested on Friday.
Other Tidbits:
- Show-and-Tell will be on Thursday at lunch time.
- Library is Monday!
- We will have barn duty on Tuesday.
- The Walk-a-Thon is this week Wednesday afternoon. Students should be sure to have comfortable shoes and dress for whatever weather Michigan throws at us.

2. Holland Christian’s All School Walkathon will be taking place on Wednesday, September 25, during the afternoon of school. Thank you for your support in this endeavor. For those new or unfamiliar with our Walkathon, please read through a few FAQs here!
3. Hearing and Vision Screenings: The Ottawa County Health Department will be conducting annual Hearing and Vision Screenings on September 24th and 26th. Grades Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th will have a hearing screening and grades 1st, 3rd, and 5th will have a vision screening. You may opt out of these screenings by informing the office in writing and include the following information: Name of student, date of screening, which screening to opt out of (hearing or vision), and parent signature.
