(Indoor Recess Fun)
Curriculum Tidbits:
- We wrapped up Unit 2 in math last week, but will wait until after Thanksgiving Break to being Unit 3 so we can do some review games and "Thanksgiving" math activities over the next two days.
- In Bible we are leaving the stories in Genesis and beginning the stories leading up to the birth of Jesus as we enter the Season of Advent.
- Our class worked all together to write an opinion essay about Why Recess Should Be Longer. :) Needless to say, there was no shortage of reasons! This week they begin writing about their individual topics.
- We began using Typing Club to develop some good typing habits before bad ones settle in. If your child wants to work on this at home, they can follow this link so their progress at home will add to their progress at school. (They should click the top button that has them sign in with their Google account.)
- At the beginning of the year, information was sent home to help your third grader log in to REFLEX from home. Your third grader will come home with that same information on Monday in case it has been misplaced. Students could log in from home and build upon all the math fact progress they have made at school.
- Third graders will work together with their peers to construct gingerbread houses on December 11. If you are able to donate a few bags of candy or other supplies, sign-up using this link. The sign-up is shared between all three 3rd grade classes. In addition, each third grader is encouraged to bring 2 tubs of white frosting. Feel free to label these with your child's name and send them in any time. This frosting will be used to cover their entire house and base/board.
