Week #2 Tidbits + pictures!

When we return, it will be September already! We are off to a great start and I feel blessed to spend my days with this bunch!
Be sure to scroll down to see lots of pictures of our first two weeks.

Curriculum Tidbits:

  • We'll be learning about the Armor of God in Bible this week.
  • We've started learning about what a personal narrative is, and this coming week we will begin brainstorming ideas for our own personal narratives.
  • In reading, we are working on sticking with the books we are reading and "making a movie" of the story in our minds so we can picture what is happening.
  • Third graders are reviewing some trickier phonics sounds such as -ch, tch, and -igh over the next few weeks.
  • Due to all of the four-day weeks, we still are not beginning weekly reading minutes.
  • Next week the whole class will have the SAME spelling words, and they will likely be quite easy for most students. The purpose of the list is to learn the process and procedures for our Word Work/Spelling with low-risk words.
  • Individualized spelling lists AND weekly reading minutes will not begin until the week of September 8.
